I think like everyone right now, it is very easy to feel bored or nervous or anxious. One thing that I questioned when I first heard it was to create a joy list to help alleviate these feelings. So I took a few minutes to think about what brings me joy, like hearing a Backstreet or Nsync song, dog videos, or painting my nails and it helps me get through the tougher days. So I know it sounds like a waste of time, but take a few minutes, and put this list on your phone so you can look at and do something that makes you happy because no one will else can improve your mood, but you.

Inspiration: Molly Yeh Girl Meets Farm

While waiting to watch the cooking show Joanna Gaines did for the Food Network, In the Kitchen with Joanna Gaines, I saw the last few minutes of Girl Meets Farm staring Molly Yeh. Molly is a graduate from Julliard and feel in love with food while in New York. Her recipes are influenced by her Chinese and Jewish background. She has a successful blog, books, and show on the Food network called Girl Meets Farm. Why the title? Molly now lives on a farm on the North Dakota-Minnesota border, where her husband is a fifth generation farmer. I love Molly’s energetic spirit and all of the dishes she makes look delicious. I also love how her food is influenced by both her Jewish and Chinese heritage. If you are interested to learn more about Molly read her blog here

Meghan Markle Update:

It is so surreal to see the photos of Prince Harry and Meghan around Los Angeles and participating in zoom calls. I know it sounds ridiculous, but one of my goals is try to meet Meghan Markle, while she is in Los Angeles. Meghan participated on a zoom call this week with members of the Hubb Community kitchen. Meghan first visited the Hubb Community Kitchen in 2018 at the Al Manaar Muslim Cultural Heritage Center in West London, which was supporting families in the aftermath of the Grenfell Tower fire tragedy. Meghan spear-headed the kitchen’s “Together” cookbook, which features recipes from the women involved. Her involvement in the center, reminds us that we can all support and bring light to issues we are passionate about, and has made me reflect on what I can do help in my community.

Final Thoughts:

Have you all tried the Quibi app yet? Quibi is short for quick bites and features an assortment of shows from some of your favorite actors and celebrities that are under 10 minutes in length. Of course, my favorite show is the Rachel Hollis show, but Quibi is a quick way to bring some joy and you time in a time frame that most people can spare for themselves.
